What is Twilio SMS?
Twilio SMS is a cloud-based messaging service that allows businesses to send and receive SMS messages globally through Twilio’s API. It enables seamless communication with customers by integrating SMS capabilities into various platforms, including SleekFlow.

Starting a conversation
You can initiate a conversation on Twilio SMS using a phone number. Conversations can begin in the following ways:
- You can start a conversation by sending a message to your customer’s phone number.
- Your customers can initiate a conversation by sending a text message to your SMS number.
Supported message type
Twilio SMS via SleekFlow supports sending and receiving various message types:
Messages you can send
- Plain text messages: Maximum 4,096 characters
- Documents, multimedia, and voice notes: Can only be sent as a link (maximum file size: 16MB)
- Payment links: Requires SleekFlow Payment feature
- Product messages: Sent from the SleekFlow Product Catalog

- Plain text messages: Formatting options like bold and italic are not supported
- Emojis
- Location: Your customer can send location-based messages
- Reaction to text messages: Your customer can react to received messages
Unsupported message type
The following message types are not supported on Twilio SMS via SleekFlow:
- Documents
- Multimedia
- Voice notes
You will not be able to send and receive messages that fall into the above categories.
Message/conversation limitations
Conversation window
- There is no conversation window limit for Twilio SMS. Messages can be sent and received at any time without restrictions
Recalling and editing messages
- Messages cannot be recalled or edited on SleekFlow after sending
- Messages cannot be deleted on SleekFlow after receiving
- Your customer may delete messages sent or received in their SMS inbox, but this action does not affect message visibility on SleekFlow
Message cost
Twilio SMS is a paid service that requires purchasing a phone number and paying messaging fees.
Phone number costs
- Monthly fixed fee – You must subscribe to a phone number for sending and receiving messages.
- Pricing varies – The cost of phone numbers depends on their function, region, and type. Contact the SleekFlow team to inquire about purchasing a phone number at a lower rate.
Message costs
- Pay-as-you-go – You are charged per message sent.
- Pricing varies by region – The cost per message depends on the recipient’s location and message origin. Visit Twilio’s pricing page to check rates for specific countries.
