To send SMS messages using a US or Canada toll-free number, you must complete the SMS toll-free verification. This process helps carriers confirm that your messages comply with anti-spam policies and ensures higher delivery rates.

In this article, we’ll guide you through each step of the verification process — from entering your business information to submitting your use case details.

⚙️ Before you begin

Make sure you have the following ready:

  • A toll-free number purchased via SleekFlow that you plan to use for SMS in the US or Canada
  • Your business name and address (matching your registration details)
  • A public opt-in page URL where customers subscribe to your SMS list
  • A clear use case description and sample messages
  • Your privacy policy and terms of service links (recommended)
  • A notification email to receive carrier updates

⚠️ Before you submit your toll-free verification

Telecom carriers have strict compliance requirements for SMS use cases. To avoid delays or rejection, please review our essential guide on:

  • Preparing compliant consent and opt-in proof
  • Writing clear and accurate use case descriptions
  • Avoiding disallowed or high-risk content

For detailed instructions, see our Best practices and FAQ for SMS toll-free verification

Step 1: Business and contact information

In this step, enter your official business details so carriers can verify that your toll-free number is tied to a legitimate organization. All information should match your legal or registered business records.

Fields required:

  • Legal entity name
    • Enter your company’s full registered name as it appears on legal or government documents.
    • Example: SleekFlow Limited
  • Website URL
    • Provide the official website of your business. The URL must start with https://.
    • Example: https://sleekflow.io
    • 💡 If you don’t have a public website, use a verifiable business page such as your company profile or landing page that shows your brand and contact details.
  • First name / Last name
    • Enter the contact person responsible for this verification submission. This person should be reachable for any clarification.
  • Email address
    • Add the email address where carriers can contact you about this application. Make sure it’s active and monitored.
  • Phone number
    • Enter a valid contact number, including the country code. This number is used for verification follow-ups if needed.

Step 2: Business address

In this step, enter your company’s registered business address. This information is used by carriers to confirm your business identity and verify that your organization is legitimate and contactable.

Fields required:

  • Country
    • Select your country or region from the dropdown list.
    • Example: Taiwan
  • Address street 1
    • Enter your primary street address (e.g. building name and number).
    • Example: No. 88, Section 3, Roosevelt Road
  • Address street 2 (optional)
    • Add additional details if needed, such as floor, unit, or block.
    • Example: 10/F, Suite 1001
  • Address city
    • Enter your city or district name.
    • Example: Taipei
  • Address state or province
    • Enter your state, province, or region name.
    • Example: Taipei City
  • Address postal code
    • Provide your area’s postal code.
    • 💡 If your country or region doesn’t use postal codes (e.g. Hong Kong), enter 00000.

Once all address details are complete, click Continue to Messaging use case to move on to the next step.

Step 3: Messaging use case

In this final step, describe how your business plans to use the toll-free number for messaging.

This information helps carriers understand the type of messages you send, how users opt in, and how frequently they receive them.

Fields required:

  • Estimated monthly messaging volume
    • Select the approximate number of messages you expect to send per month.
    • Example: 1,000–10,000 messages
  • Opt-in type
    • Choose how your customers subscribe to receive your SMS messages.
    • Example options:
      • Via web form
      • Via text message keyword (e.g. texting “JOIN”)
      • In-person or paper form registration
  • Opt-in policy image URLs
    • Paste one or more URLs that show where customers give consent to receive SMS (such as your website’s opt-in page or a screenshot hosted online).
    • The URL must start with https://.
    • Example: https://sleekflow.io/sms-opt-in
    • 💡 If your opt-in process happens via text (e.g. “Text START to 12345”), include a screenshot of the confirmation flow hosted at a public link.
  • Use case categories
    • Select the category that best describes your message type.
    • Example: Marketing, Customer support, Notifications, or Alerts
  • Use case description
    • Summarize the purpose of your SMS messages and how you engage with recipients.
    • Example: “We send promotional offers and exclusive discounts to customers who have opted in via our website or by texting START to our toll-free number.”
  • Message content
    • Provide a sample of the SMS you plan to send.
    • Example: “Hi Jane, thanks for joining SleekFlow SMS. Use code WELCOME20 for 20% off your next order. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.”
  • Additional information (optional)
    • Include any extra details that clarify your use case, such as:
      • How you handle opt-outs
      • Message frequency limits
      • Customer support response time

Once all fields are complete, click “Continue” to review and submit your information for verification. The verification process usually takes 3-5 business days.

💡 Tip: Ensure your sample message, opt-in page, and business details are consistent. This helps carriers verify your application faster.
